WINDOW GLASS

We are forever with our faces pressed to a window
Trying in vain to touch what we see on the other side.

Our vision is obscured by our very breath
Which fogs the glass and clouds our sight.

When I met you, you took my breath away.

The glass cleared.

And for just a moment,
I thought I might actually reach you.
